About 30km from Terni, in the south-east of Umbria is the ancient city of Spoleto, still facing the Roman road called Flaminia (220 BC).

Rich in art and history, Spoleto is visited by many tourists and lovers of music and theater, attracted by the famous FESTIVAL DEI DUE MONDI, wanted in 1958 by Giancarlo Menotti (Italian naturalized American composer and librettist), with the aim of combining art and culture of the European and American continents. Giancarlo Menotti died in Monte Carlo in 2007.

Spoleto CLASSIC TOUR (2 hours and 30 minutes approximately) -Meet at the Park Bus Ponzianina and climb to the historic center of Spoleto thanks to the brand new mechanized route of the escalators -Passeggiata dei Condotti, a panoramic tour that allows you to admire one of the most famous monuments of Umbria: the Ponte delle Torri (XIV century) – The Rocca Albornoziana (external only) overlooks the entire city and is partially visible from the Passeggiata dei Condotti.spoleto

Formerly a penitentiary from 1817 to 1982, it now houses a museum and various cultural events throughout the year. -Circumnavigating the walls of the fortress, you can easily reach the enchanting Piazza Duomo, where the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta will amaze you with its majesty. Spoleto Cathedral Church of S. Maria della Manna d’Oro (external only), Caio Melisso Theater (external only) – Continuing to walk through the narrow streets of the historic center you enter Piazza del Mercato, once the ancient Roman forum, which had as its triumphal entry the Arch of Drusus and Germanicus -In the small Piazza della Repubblica you can peek through an iron grate to admire the remains of the Roman Theater (external only)
