Tour of Assisi

assisi1 b

This post is also available in: itItaliano (Italian)

ASSISI is a lovely town situated about 30 miles from Todi and perched on a hill at the foot of the Subasio Mountain. Assisi was taken over by the Romans in the 1st century BC and became a rich colony along the famous Via Flaminia.

In the 12th century, Assisi became the birthplace of one of the most famous saints ever: St. Francis. Founder of the Franciscan order, canonized in 1228, and elected as Patron Saint of Italy in 1939, St. Francis is among the most venerated saints throughout the world. Everything in Assisi speaks about him and his charismatic life, poor in possessions but rich in charitable works.

Apart from St. Francis, the towns offers many sites of interest including Roman remains, beautiful views, amazing art work and more!

We estimate that to explore  Assisi fully, one would take at least 2 days! However, we can work with your schedule to create your personalized tour according to your needs and interests.
