Today, March 25th, the Catholic Church is celebrating the Annunciation to Mary.
Three churches in Todi are dedicated to the Santissima Annunziata:
1) The elegant and imposing Duomo of Santissima Annunziata, the main church in town, overlooking Piazza del Popolo. The Annunciation scene is represented many times in the church as bas-reliefs, inlays, and stained glass.

2) The small Nunziatina, located a few steps from the Duomo and preserving beautiful baroque paintings and frescoes. This church is also nicknamed as “the small Sistine of Todi”.

3) The less famous church and monastery of the Santissima Annunziata, in the Borgo Nuovo district – not far from the Porta Perugina-, once homed by the nuns “Servants of Mary” who also began to run a religious house for tourists – the monastery has been closed some years ago, but the building is still in use as a hotel.

As you can see, there are so many hidden places to be discovered in Todi! Once we will be able to travel again – after the Corona Virus – we will meet in Todi and we’ll enjoy my lovely town together. Can’t wait for it!
