Carnival Pie PDF Print E-mail

We finish with a very "old" recipe: it was always made for Carnival and my mother told me that the "gentlemen" brought it to dinner at the Masked Ball that took place at the Municipal Theatre (it was one of the most important and elegant in Umbria) Thus the rich ate this pie in their theatre boxes!

If the Sweet Macaroni seems odd, then read the following recipe ...!

CARNIVAL PIE

Ingredients:

clean 20per20 Two sheets of  pastry (pastafrolla)

clean 20per20 A pot with meat sauce-Bolognese ( cooked adding also 2 teaspoons of sugar)

clean 20per20 grated parmesan

clean 20per20 200 g of pasta-rigatoni

1-Put one pastry in a oven-dish.

2-Boil the rigatoni pasta and add the sauce and Parmesan when cooked.

3-Pour sauce/cheese mix onto the pastry-lined oven dish.

4- Cover all with 2nd layer of pastry.

5- Bake in oven 180° for approx. 30 minutes.
