We visit also the Basilica of Santa Maria degli Angeli within which is kept the PORZIUNCOLA, the heart of Franciscan spirituality.
TOUR "A DAY IN ASSISI" (6 hours)

-Visit of SAN DAMIANO, which was the monastery of Santa Chiara and the place where the wooden Crocefisso spoke to Saint Francis, guiding him toward his vocation. Visit of the EREMO DELLE CARCERI, an ancient building surrounded by the greenery of Mount Subasio, the place where Francis and his brothers went to retire in meditation.
* Due to the very narrow road, these sites are accessible only by using taxi-busses which can be booked in advance or on site, depending on availability. The convent of San Damiano is also accessible on foot, but we recommend this route only to people able to walk properly as it is steep road.
